Coming out of California's long running death metal scene is Evulse with their new EP.Pustulant Spawn contains four songs of putrid old school death metal that is delievered with intensity and powerful musicial passages.The guitars are played with a mix of frenzied fast patterns and some mid paced guitar passages entertwined into the music.The drums are handled with a mix of intense fast drum patterns but like the drummer does slow to a heavier mid tempoed drum style throughout a few of the songs.The vocals are some of the best old school death metal growls in recent memory and fits Evulse's music perfectly.If you are a fan of early immolation,Incantation or Autopsy then Evulse is a band you should defintly check out soon.
