Interview with Datura

1.Hello please introduce yourselves to the readers? 1. Greetings! I am Dimas ! The unshakable father founder and embodiment of the Drunken receptions! Thank you for the opportunity to be published in your most worthy publication! It is very important for us! DATURA responds!

2.When did you first discover death metal music and what is it about this genre of music that you love? 2. Faced with this phenomenon still in my youth! I, Already being in search of true brutality, was familiar with the classics of world rock and heavy metal. After Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Morbid Angel, Deicide, Suffocation, Pyrexia, Internal Bleeding ! I satisfied my initial thirst for brutality. And I'm still hunting in these jungles! In search of the truly brutal manifestation of the metaphysical meaning of not achieving perfection. It's about following the path. Cultivating teachings through hard work and prayer! One of the criteria for my rating of this topic is its difficulty and the potential for continuous growth!

3.Who were the first bands that you discovered?Who are your current favorite bands that you have been listening to? 3. In the previous question, I already touched on this briefly. I will add that in general, the global death metal scene is very strong and powerful! The glorious history and the direction towards the future are very encouraging! I don't miss any new releases. There are so many of them! Some albums and singles, despite their names, don't catch my attention. They pass me by. Occasionally, unknown artists release excellent music. Stay brutal!!! 4.Datura was started in 1999 what gave you all the idea to start this band? How did you choose the name Datura ? 4. Yes, that's true. The start was motivated by the band's desire to participate in a silent dialogue. Between past and future generations of people. People we haven't seen and won't see again. Through the universal language of musical forms. The name is harmoniously and logically derived from the concept of multi-facetedness and seven-voicedness. 5.Who would you say are the bands biggest influences and have they remained the same over the years? For the readers who have never heard Datura's music how would you best describe it? 5. The 1990s U.S. death scene. This is our foundation. The current influences are less limited, but they are essentially the same. Plus, there is a place for manifestations in the work of our band that are not related to anyone's influence. Datura's music is a brutal death metal of the second wave in the United States. It has a distinct original vision of the genre's overall stylistic development. 6.My Kingdom Is Not Of This World which was released through Coyote Rec. when did the band first come in contact with this label? 6. 2005 . The first disc released by us on this label! Since then we continue to work closely with this icon. Having also several projects under the general name D.B.S. Connected between themselves by a common idiology, a single base and participants. We cooperate with many labels. In the releases of our releases. 7.How long did it take the band to write the music for this releas? Does the whole band take part in the writing process or does one member usually write everything? 7. It took six years. We have a war in the country. This is the main thing that delays the implementation of what was planned. All participants participate in writing to varying degrees. This is especially true for each participant's own compositions 8.Where does the band draw inspiration for the lyrics? What are some topics written about on the new release?Which comes first for the band the music or the lyrics? 8. Music is immeasurably more important than the lyrics. They also have some importance. They are intended to be displayed on the CD tab. The themes of our lyrics are not new and have been beaten to death by the thousands of attempts of our great ancestors to touch the essence. Intuitive, spontaneous, and metaphorical grasping of the truth! These are our main themes. 9. There is plenty of everything. But we are not a recognized empire. There is no communication with the world. Therefore, nothing works through us. We hope the situation will change for the better after that. 10.Has Datura gotten to play very many live concerts over the years? What are some of the most memorable shows you have played over the years?Who are some bands you have shared the stage with? 10. We have performed 11 fire shows in 2025. Among them are the main events of our country. This is Coyote Brutal Fest - Moscow, MSR FEST - Maykop. and Kirovsk Kufley Fest. For us, this is a good indicator for staying in constant peak form. And the available willingness to implement in the best possible way! The live show is our most important sublimated existence. 11.Are their any shows or tours planned in support of My Kingdom Is Not Of This World? 11. The vast territories of our country and its allies, as well as the eternity of our country, are constantly anticipating our outings. Several dates are already known, including Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yevpatoria, and Feodosia. The Crimean tour is aimed at supporting us! 12.Besides Datura do any of the members currently work with other bands? If yes please tell the readers a little about them? 12. I'm the drummer and vocalist for Datura, and I play bass for Stalino - technical brutal death metal. I play guitar for Steam Hammer - stonercore, and I play drums for Megalodont - doomcore. I also sing for Vanstoring Insolobridition - death metal, and I play everything for Elizarov's Apparatus - avant-garde grind. Music is our training and recreation. All members of the group are working class. And you have to work a lot. Therefore, no stupid hobbies. Only brutal!! Recreation in ecstasy! 14.Thank you for taking the time to fill this interview out do you have anything you would like to add before we end this interview? 14. Thank you very much for your attention.
