Interview with Dreams In Fragments, done by Patrick posted on 6-28-19

Interview with Dreams In Fragments, done by Patrick

1.Hello how are things going in Switzerland these days? Please introduce yourself to the readers?

Switzerland is a great place to do music as a hobby but a bad one if you’d like to do it for a living.
Female-fronted melodic metal from Switzerland – this is Dreams in Fragments. The foursome, consisting of Seraina Schoepfer (lead vocals), Chris Geissmann (guitar, vocals), Jan Thomas (bass) and Franc Fritschi (drums) hails from the otherwise so calm town (un)known as Wangen bei Olten somewhere between Basel, Berne and Zurich. Due to its musical stylings, the band has been compared to bands such as «Nightwish» or «Delain». However, Dreams in Fragments have no reason to present themselves as a cover band of any of the greats; Seraina’s voice, operatic yet light as a feather, combined with Chris‘ growls sets the band apart in the same way the union of hard guitar riffs and dreamy orchestrations does. It is only fitting that the setlist is built around the band’s own compositions such as «The Maze» and «Nightchild»..But you surely did read that one before.

2.When did you first become interested in writing and playing music?

Chris: It was early in my case. I sang in choirs and local band/choir-projects and when I was about 15 years old I started my first band. Let’s say I tried. It didn’t work so great. Shortly after I joined the band Majesty of silence. We are still active today.

3.When did you first meet the other members of the band? And was it long before you all got the idea to start Dreams In Fragments?

Chris: I met the band when they asked me to join them back a few years. The band was named differently back then and a few members left the band since then. That’s why we renamed it at the beginning of 2017 to Dreams in Fragments.

4.Who would you say are Dreams In Fragments biggest influences?

Chris: For myself, it is Dimmu Borgir in 1997 when “Enthrone Darkness Triumphant” came out. Soon after that Cradle of Filth’s album “Cruelty and the beast”. Also, the gothic style of music influenced me, The Birthday Massacre has certainly left a lasting impression. I liked Nightwish too since “Angels Fall First” and was always very attracted to similar bands like for instance Delain. But I was also very attracted to melodic death metal like In Flames and Dark Tranquility.
Seraina:
I think we all have different influences and sources of inspiration. For me, they are especially bands like Nightwish, Evanescence, Delain or Amaranthe.

5.How long did it take the band to write the music for debut release? Does the whole band take part in the writing process or does one member usually write everything?

Chris: Hard to say for two songs already existed when I joined. All in all, I’d say it took 3 years to complete the songs. But keep in mind that in this time also personnel changes hindered the work. I am usually composing the music while Seraina writes all lyrics and usually all vocal melodies. Of course, we still discuss the songs together, which leads to some small adjustments.

6.Who usually handles writing the lyrics for the music and what are some subjects written about on Reflections Of A Nightmare? Which usually comes first the music or the lyrics?

Seraina: Normally I am responsible for all the vocals and lyrics. I always want to tell stories with my lyrics. Sometimes it's my dreams I recount - or sequences of them. I dream really weird. Most people can't completely remember their dreams. They are fragments that we have to reassemble in our heads. Was a nightmare really a nightmare, or do I only remember the bad and cruel part of it? In the end, everything always has a good and a bad side - and sometimes we don't know which is which. I like this twist. It inspires my songwriting and it also inspired the album title "Reflections Of A Nightmare". So dreams and their effects are really present in us - not only in the band- and album names.
Chris:
Mostly music comes first and Seraina writes lyrics on top of it.

7.Has the band ever thought of making a music video for any of their songs? If you had an opportunity to make to a video for any of the songs off of " Reflections Of A Nightmare" which song would you like seen made into a music video?

Chris: We had a lyric video of our Song Nightchild done earlier this year. But for a full music video, we didn’t have neither time nor money. If the opportunity should come, we surely would consider it. I’d personally do a video of Either In Flames, The Maze or Unireverse.

8.Besides the upcoming debut release Reflections Of A Nightmare does the band have any other merchandise currently available? If yes what is available and where can the readers buy it?

Chris: No atm we, unfortunately, don’t have any further merch.

9.Has Dreams In Fragments played live very often yet or do you prefer working in the studio? What have been some of the bands most memorable shows and who are some bands you have had the chance to share the stage with?

Chris: For the relatively short time that we have existed, we have played relatively much live. We owe most of it to our friends from Forge, who took us on their Eastern European tour, from which we recently returned. So Dreams in Fragments is a live band. I like to work in the studio but that’s most of the time just me alone.

10.Are there any shows or tours planned in support of the debut release if yes where will Dreams In Fragments be playing?

Chris: As mentioned we were on eastern Europe tour with Forge. We played five shows on the tour and it was a great experience. Now we are looking out to play some more gigs around Switzerland and our neighbouring countries. For sure you can come to see us on August 23rd at the Chillout at Boswil as support for Elcano who play their first show and on November 9th at the Met Bar Lenzburg on the occasion of the Emerging Metal Night organized by unblack.

11.When you need to take a break from working on new music or band business what do you like to do in your free time?

Chris: I cuddle up with my two kitties while watching a good movie or hang out with my best friends.

12.Thank you for taking the time to fill this interview out do you have any final comments for the readers?
Thanks for the interest in our Band and your support. See you in an audience soon!

Interview with Gutless done by Patrick posted on 6-20-19

Interview with Tom vocalist and guitarist of Gutless done by  Patrick

1.Hello Tom how are things going in Australia this week? Please introduce yourself to the readers?

Hi, my name’s Tom and I do vocals and guitar for Gutless from Melbourne, Australia.

2.When did you first start listening to metal music and who were the first bands you heard? Who are some of your current favorite bands?
I first started listening to metal at the beginning of high school which was around 2007, I loved listening to Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Pantera. After that as time went on I began listening to more and more bands and got into heavier and faster music, but for me I really love the bands of the late 80’s early 90’s death metal scene in Florida. Demolition Hammer, Solstice, Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation, Deicide and Obituary are all bands that I have never stopped listening to and have continued to gain enormous amounts of inspiration from.

3.Gutless was started in 2018 what gave you and the other members the idea to start this band? What is the current line up of the band?

The line-up of Gutless is Tom - Vocals/guitar, Jamo – Bass, Ollie – Drums I always knew I wanted to start a death metal band full of my favorite parts of death metal. Sick bass breaks, devastating tempo drops and fast as fuck blasts. I came to Ollie and he was into the idea so we started writing the songs together.

4.For the readers who have never heard the bands music how would you best describe it? Who would you say are Gutless's biggest influences?
I would describe our music as like picking up some dirtbag by the scruff of his neck and repeatably pounding his face until your fist breaks through the back of his skull. As for our influences, they would be Solstice, Suffocation, Deicide, Demolition hammer, Cannibal corpse and Malevolent Creation.

5.Chaos Records will release the debut demo Mass Extinction  on cd  when did you all come in contact with this great label?

Victor from Chaos Records hit us up shortly after we released the demo on our Bandcamp page. Victor really dug what he heard and asked us if we were interested in getting it released on CD, we noticed a lot of people were asking for CD’s so we were stoked that Victor got in contact with us.

6.How long did it take the band to write the music for the debut demo does the whole band take part in the writing the process?
It was just myself and Ollie writing the demo, I would write riffs at home and bring them to Ollie and then we would work on the songs together at his place. We started on the demo about July and we finished writing it around the end of November. We knew we wanted a 5 track demo and our goal was to have it written by the end of 2018, so we were wrapped that we got it recorded and released in that time too.

7.Besides the Mass Extinction release does the band have any other merchandise currently available for the readers to buy?
We’ll have some shirts very soon so keep an eye on our Facebook or Bandcamp page for those.

8.Does  Gutless  get to play live very often or do you prefer working in the studio? What have been some of the bands most memorable shows so far?
We haven’t played many shows yet but I would say we’d be playing about one or two shows a month. My favourite show so far has been upstairs at the Tote, it was a great night, loads of people came and all the bands were dope, we played with Vile Apparition, Faceless Burial, Charnel Altar and Endless Loss.

9.Are their any tours or shows planned in support of the Mass Extinction release? If yes where will the band be playing? And who are some bands you will be sharing the stage with?

We’ll tour soon, but for now we’re going to keep writing and playing shows around Melbourne.

10.What  does underground metal mean to you?
When I think of underground metal I am reminded of all the great times I’ve had on tour in the states with my old band Sewercide. It was awesome meeting new people every night and instantly having a connection based on music. We could always find some total mad dog at any show that was into killer death metal and you could hang out all night drinking beers and blasting sick records with.

11.Has the band started working on new music for the next release?Any idea how many songs will be on the next release?
We’re writing 2 tracks for a split with Mortal Wound from L.A at the moment. So stay tuned for that release.

12. Gutless comes out of Australia's death metal scene what is your opinion of Australia's legendary death metal scene over the decades?
Australia has spat out some killer death metal bands over the decades for sure. A few that come to mind are Abramelin, Misery and Crypt. I really love blasting A Necessary Evil by Misery and I always love listening to Hobbs’ Angel of Death self titled.

13.Who are your all-time favorite bands coming out of Australia and are their any new bands you feel the readers should check out soon?
Yeah! Check out Faceless Burial, Contaminated, Vile Apparition and Carcinoid, they’re all ripper bands from Melbourne. As for my favourite bands out of Australia they would be Shitgrinder, Sick people, Internal Rot and Vile Apparition.

14.When you need to take a break from working on new music and band business  what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Listening to death metal with Jamo whilst we have a game of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, Streets Of Rage 2, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country or NBA JAM. We also go out to shows to see mates’ bands play.

15.Besides Gutless do you or any of the members currently work with any other bands or solo projects? If yes please tell the readers a little about them?
Jamo and Ollie both play in Vile Apparition which is a Death Metal band from Melbourne for fans of Suffocation, Brutal Truth, Cryptopsy and Ripping Corpse. Check out their album Depravity Ordained!

16.Thank you Tom for taking the time to fill this interview out do you have any final comments for the readers?

Ancestral--Novo Ordus Seclorum cd {Australis Rec.}
Coming out of Chile's death metal scene is Ancestral who play powerful and unrelenting death metal style. The vocals are heavy death metal growls and some lower.gruff growls used in a few of the songs. The drums are played with blasting fast drumming patterns that are done extremely tight. The drummer does slow to a more calm mid pace range in a few songs before going full force with the faster blasting drums.Ancestral play a very barbaric old school death metal style with some well written and performed music.

Nocturnes Mist--Marquis Of  Hell  cd {Séance Rec.}
Australia's Nocturnes Mist return with their fifth full length release.Marquis Of Hell is a mix of fast black metal mixed with some well played and written atmospheric elements and music. The guitars are done with some complex guitar patterns that go from extremely fast range to a more slower and controlled pace. The guitarist does play with a lot of skill and experience even adding some well played solo's within the music. The vocals are a mix of raw black metal screams and shrieks that fit the bands music nicely. The drumming is done with a lot of skill and well executed drum patterns that go from a frenzied drum pattern to a more controlled mid paced drum style.Marquis Of Hell is another great release from Australia's Nocturnes Mist

Interview with William D. Septic, the owner of Dawning Septic Productions done by Patrick posted on 6-14-19

Interview with William D. Septic, the owner of Dawning Septic Productions done by Patrick

1.Hello William how are things going in Canada these days? Please introduce yourself to the readers?
- Hi Patrick, things are fine here. To whom is reading, I am William from Dawning Septic Productions from Ottawa, Canada.

2.When did you first discover metal music and who were the first bands you listened to? Who are some of the current bands you are listening to?
- This was quite some time ago in my teens and when some genres of the more extreme forms of metal were yet to be innovated. So, at that time for me it began with a combination of heavy metal bands like Judas Priest, Accept and Twisted Sister and soon after punk & crossover style bands like DRI, Discharge & Cryptic Slaughter. Well to name a few of many bands I currently listen to, I would say Concilivm, Wombbath, Sentient Horror, Outre Tombe, Satanic, Witch King, Crypts of Despair, Ossurarium, Vultur, Vhorthax, Abythic, Alastor, Tyrant Goatgaldrakona, Heresiarch, Brutality, Feral, War Possession, Cardiac Arrest, Ectoplasma, Cruciamentum...to name some of many I do like and listen to in more recent times.

3.Do you get to go to many concerts in your town or area? What have been some of the most  memorable shows you have witnessed? Who have been some of your favourite bands that you have seen live?
Yes, for sure, I don't always get to see everything but I try to get out when I can work around my life and work schedules. Some of the most memorable shows I have seen have been seeing Vomitory, Carcass, Sacrifice, Mayhem and Cruciamentum. As far as favourite bands live, this would be again with Vomitory & Carcass and also other bands like Angel Corpse, Grave, Emperor, Dark Funeral, Blood Red Throne & Morbid Angel.

4.William you started the label in 2018 when did you first get the idea to start a label? Do you run the label by yourself or do you have some friends that help out?
- Yes, the label came into existence in May 2018 and the idea for it began a few years back actually. Currently it is run by myself but that may change in the future, we'll see.

5.Are you happy with how everything has gone so far? Would you have any advice to anyone thinking of starting a label?
- For the most part yes but it has taught me some things and given me more insight surrounding it all which has been quite interesting I admit. Sure, be certain on how you wish to represent yourself and the label's theme or outlook. Don't hesitate to stick to the things you agree to or don't agree to, keep a budget and know your limits with it, communicate thoroughly and clearly and expect the same from others and don't commit to anything you can't commit to and never make any promises you are either not sure you can keep or simply can't keep.

6.Are you currently looking for new bands to work with and release or is the roster full at this time? What styles of metal do you release and work with?
- Currently, there are more things in the works and coming out this July and Summer time but after that, we will see how things go and what happens. The main interests for the label are old school death metal, blackened death metal and war metal, however we have released some death/thrash and will be releasing a band soon with some grind influences as well. Despite that, we do try to keep with the label's theme and interests.

7.What are some of your current releases that are available to the readers? And are their any releases coming out soon that the readers should watch out for?
- Recently and just released is Concilivm - The Veiled Enigma on CD, they are a blackened death metal band from Chile that are absolutely wicked! There is also Obscure Devotion – Ubi Certa Pax Est on CD, which is a reissue CD of blackened death metal from Italy that was co-released with DSP and Dark Horizon records together. We also have Deathmarch - Dismember & Bloodphemy – In Cold Blood on pro-tape who are two old school death metal bands from the Netherlands yet they both have their different sounds, concepts and unique styles of death metal too. Also, we have Satanic – From Hell & Hellborn – Pillage in the Land of God on pro-tape and both these bands are from Quebec, Canada and a great to see live! Satanic offers the listener an old school form of death/thrash and Hellborn brings out more of an old school death metal style. Coming up next for releases is Cryptivore – Unseen Divinity on digipack CD, this Australian band delivers a mixture of old school death metal & grindcore. This a reissue of this demo that has been remixed/remastered and now includes 3 additional bonus tracks. It is also a co-release with us and Vaginal Autopsy Records from Portugal and it should be out towards later July 2019!

8.Do you trade a lot with labels and distro's around the world or do you prefer to do wholesale? What styles of music do you carry in your distro?
 - I have done some different trades here and there since the label began and a bit of wholesale as well. For the distro part of the label we carry all the metal genres we release plus other styles like brutal death metal, black metal, thrash, grindcore & crust.

9.Who are some labels that you have worked with and traded with? If any labels or distros are reading this where can they contact you about possible trades?
- We have worked with Dark Horizon records from the USA with a co-release on CD and are currently working with a new label called Vaginal Autopsy Records from Portugal for a co-release on an upcoming CD as well. So far, we have traded with War Productions, PRC Music, Von Frost Records & Dark Horizon Records to name some. For trades or wholesale, its best to just contact us and send a message through our facebook page.

10.William you live in the great country of Canada what is your opinion of the Canadian metal scene over the years?
- I think from the 1990’s until now, things have expanded much further than how they used to be for shows, venues and where bands would go to play on their tours. So, it has definitely grown with interest and beyond the bigger cities and with the newer generations too taking an interest in it too.

11.Who are your all-time favorite bands coming out of Canada? And are their any new bands you feel the readers should check out?
 - I liked Cryptopsy, especially in their earlier times with the original lineup and am quite proud to have seen them live in theses times as well. Other bands I liked were Corpus, Nefarious, Deamon and November Grief. For newer Canadian bands, I like and recommend Altered Dead, Reversed, Entity, Atroce, Kremlin, Outre-Tombe, Hellborn, Satanic, Saccage & Oath Div. 666.

12.Besides bands are their any other honest and reliable labels and distro's you feel the readers should check out? What about good web or fanzines that you like to read?
- Yes absolutely, I can say Dark Horizon Records, War Productions, Von Frost Records & PRC Music. Outside of the label end of things and on my own personal experiences for labels and purchases, I also like Dark Descent Records, Blood Harvest, Ironbonehead, Memento Mori, Transcending Obscurity Records and Hammerheart Records. For online zines, I like and recommend Blessed Altar Zine. They cover a lot of new releases with reviews & interviews and have special editions as well.

13.When you need to take a break from working on label business what do you like to do in your free time?
- In a way the music side of things doesn’t stop, so other music related things I do is searching for and checking out new or unknown bands to hear out their material, I also write and jam out my own music that I am working on plus listening to music in general as well. Otherwise, work, reading, collecting music & some comics, to seeing live bands, I also have interests in arts, the paranormal, nature, ancient history & travel.

14.What does Underground Metal mean to you?
 - Underground Metal to me, is the non mainstream and not as well-known forms of extreme metal music that relates more to a certain few and not to an accepted majority. It usually compiles of a raw form or sound and carries a certain obscurity or darkness with it.

15. Thank you William for taking the time to fill this interview out do you have any final words for the readers?
- Well first off, thank you for having me for this interview Patrick and thank you Winter Torment Webzine!
Sure for the readers, believe in yourself, believe in what you know to be real in life and not what you are either told or see in any general media gossip platform, support the bands, the labels, go to shows and keep all this going and don’t let the physical mediums of music be condemned to just digital formats either! Cheers and all the best! – William (DSP)

Interview with BloodLust done by Patrick posted on 6-12-19

Interview with BloodLust done by  Patrick

1.Hails please introduce yourself to the readers? How are things going for you and the band these days in Colombia?
Regards to everyone your readers, motherfuckers, we are Bloodlust from Colombia, a speed metal band, full of hate for all those slaves kneeling before god.

The things for the band right now are pretty good, we just realesed our first full length called BLACK MASS and we are surprised with the respond from the metal comunity from our country. On the other hand we also started the year with various concerts helping a little more to show out the band and hoping to do some more.

2.When did you first discover metal music and who were the first bands you heard?Who are some current bands that you are listening to?
Myself, Julian Rengifo guitar player of Bloodlust, I always use to have metal close to me, a cousin of mine back on the 80`s used to be a metalhead, and I as a kid, used to see his posters and his music and I get curious about it, then when I was 12 years old, he came to live with us on my house for a while, and that is where all began, he bring his collection of tapes and we began to listend, there I knew about Sepultura, Asphyx, Cannibal Corpse, Monstrosity, among several others, that collection was just death metal, and that is how I started, later on I went meeting people and other genre and getting more into metal.
And about what I am currently listening, well I have been listening to Vulture, and a band that I just recently came across called Riot City from Canada, and the same as always, Ozzy, Candlemass, Cranium, Pentagram etc.

 3. BloodLust was started in 2012 what gave you all the idea to start this band? What is the current line up of the band?
The idea of making Bloodlust was born when I get a reunion with John Barrientos in a show on a show back in the year 2012 within a few months without speaking to   each other, then we begin conversation and from there came up the idea of making a band together, then we stared searching for a drummer and we contacted a good friend called Santiago Lozano, and the band was put together, so the band is Julian Guitars, John Bass and vocals and Santiago Drums.
We have been the same since 2012.

4.Who would you say are the bands biggest influences? And how would you best describe BloodLust's musicial style to someone who has never heard you all?
Bloodlust has a major influence from a Swedish Speed metal band, called Cranium, but also other bands such as Venom, Destruction, Kreator, Slayer, Coven, Pentagram, Black Sabbath and many others. The sound we want to make with Bloodlust, is a speed metal sound, but trying not to sound like the million bands out there, but searching for a sound of our own, so we try to mix speed, black, thrash and doom metal into one, and from that we take the sound of Bloodlust, a band with fast sound, dark riffs, blasphemous and satanic lyrics and a pounding drum, using dynamics to bring up contrast on every song, some songs with slow riffs like it was a horror movie from the 70’s, that is bloodlust’s sound.

5. BloodLust is the bands debut full length release how long did it take the band to write the music on the debut release? How long does it usually take the band to complete one song?
The composition for this álbum was a slow process, since 2015 we where writting songs, then we were rehearsing and we throw out the songs that we did not like, and that was slowing the process since we had to write other songs. Then on 2018 we decided not to wait any more and we reléased the record with the songs we had.
Usually we write a song pretty quickly, we came to the rehersal with a full song or most of it and during the rehersal we shape it together.

6.Who usually handles writing the lyrics for the music and what are some subjects written about on the debut?Which usually comes first the music or the lyrics?
John Barrientos is the one who writes the lyric, on some songs we tell him to speak of a speciffic subject, but he always writes them, almost always the music is made first, then the lyrics, but some times the lyrics get writen first.
The themes we use to the lyrcis of this album is related to the one before, then are blasphemous lyrics, lots of satanic content, sex, but there is a song that speaks of soulskeepers, the soulskeepers in Colombia are those people that during the whole month of november must go to the cemetery and takes the souls out for a walk on the streets of the town, I live on a town outside Medellin, Colombia, and that always interested me, so we made a song about it.

7.Has BloodLust had the opportunity to play live over the years or do you prefer working in the studio? What have been some of the bands most memorable shows  over the years?Who are some bands you have had the opportunity to share the stage with?
The band has had shows on main cities of the country, for us is important to play live, and that way unleashed the chaos we have on the band and brake some necks.
Bloodlust has had the opportunity to play with Brujeria on 2015 and on March of this year we played with Whiplash, those were some enjoyable shows to play to, and also learn from this bands.

8.Are their any tours or shows planned in support of the debut full length? If yes where will the band be playing?
This past May 25 was the release of the album on our city, and was amazing the reception it had. The release was on a local fest on Medellin, we played along great local bands and also with the leyend Reencarnacion, the event was at full capacity and the public was of great support, it was a great show.

9.What does Underground Metal mean to you?
Well this is a complex question. With the currect technology one can not talk about underground, a band just need to upload a video on the web and can be known to thousands, the underground where those rebel bands with no intention on being mainstream, not showing out on mtv, and that wanted to play in a garage or a bar and not to lose their essence, that was the underground, the social network and youtube makes impossible to talk about an underground but emerging bands.

10.BloodLust comes out of Colombia's speed, thrash metal scene what is your opinion of the metal scene in Colombia?

Interview with Haiduk. Done by Patrick posted on 6-10-19

Interview with Luka Milojica - music, vocalist of Haiduk. Done by Patrick.

1. Hello Luka how are things going in Canada these days? Please introduce yourself to the readers?
I’m the solo project Haiduk and I play rhythm guitar. I also handle vocals, bass and drum programming.

2. When did you first become interested in playing the guitars? Did you take lessons when first starting out or are you self-taught?
I’m self-taught but I’ve learned theory along the way when needed. I started playing almost 20 years ago.

3. Who would you say are some of your biggest influences and favorite guitarists?
Old Slayer, Megadeth, Sepultura, Dissection... Rhythm guitarists like Jon Schaffer, Jari Kuusisto, Galder and Satyr.

4. Besides the guitars are there any other instruments you currently play? If you had the opportunity to learn a new instrument which one would you like to learn to play?
I have no desire to learn new instruments but probably drums.

5. Luka you started Haiduk in 2009 when did you first get the idea to start this band? And how did you choose Haiduk as the name of the band and does it have a special meaning?
I was composing songs as far back as 2000 but they sat for years collecting dust. I finally recorded them as the demo ‘Plagueswept’ in 2009/2010 and that was the beginning of Haiduk. A ‘hajduk’ is a forest-dwelling warrior in Balkan and East European history.

 6. Who do you feel are the bands biggest influences and for the readers who have never heard the band how would you best describe Haiduk's musicial style?
It’s influenced by thrash, death and black metal. Haiduk plays with a lot of energy and creates a dark atmosphere.

 7. I believe you are the sole member for the band when you started out did you want to work alone or would you like to find new musicians to work with on future recordings? What do you feel is the easiest and hardest part about being the sole member?
I never wanted to work with anyone else. Haiduk is meant to be a solo project. There is no easy and hard. I believe in what I’m doing and do it.

8. If you had the opportunity to work with any musicians {past or present} who would you like to work with?
No one.

 9. Exomancer is the bands third full length release how long did it take you to write the music for the new release? How long does it usually take to complete one song?
Song writing took about a year for the album. A song takes about 3 weeks to compose and another 3 weeks to record.

 10. What are some of the subjects you wrote about on the new release? Which usually comes first the lyrics or the music?
First the concept, then music, then lyrics. The ‘Exomancer’ is a demonic sorcerer, harnessing cosmic powers to raise the dead and see the future. The songs deal with these and his other spells.

 11. I believe you self-release all your releases would you like to find a label to work with or do you prefer to self-release your own music?
I prefer to self-release.

 12. Besides the Exomancer release are the bands previous release still available for the readers to purchase? Besides physical releases do you have any other merchandise currently available if yes what is available and where can the readers purchase it?
All Haiduk albums can be purchased via haiduk.ca or haiduk.bandcamp on CD or download, and on all digital platforms. The demo CD is available on haiduk.bigcartel. T-shirts are currently sold out.

13. Besides working in Haiduk do you currently work with any other projects or bands? If yes please tell the readers a little about them?
There are no other projects

14. Luka when you need to take a break from writing new music or working on band business what do you like to do in your free time?
Go to metal shows, drink and meet people. Strategy and fantasy games and books.

 15. Haiduk comes out of Canada's metal scene what is your opinion of the Canadian metal scene over the years?
I don’t analyze the scene very much. It varies from city to city but I don’t pay much attention to what bands are doing. My focus is on Haiduk and those who support me.

 16. Who are your all-time favorite Canadian bands and are there any new bands you feel the readers should check out soon?
My dark allies from Fjell Thyngor, Vile Insignia and Ye Goat Herd Gods.

 17. Luka thank you for taking the time to fill this interview out do you have any final comments for the readers?
Thank you.
