Interview with Ritual Genocide done by Patrick
1. Hails when did you all first meet each other? Was it long before you decided to form the band?
I have know S19 for many years now before we began. S19 meet our drummer while playing in another band.
when that began to fall apart they asked me to join them. This we created Ritual Genocide.

2.How did you all decide on the name for the band? What is the current line-up of Ritual Genocide?
Before Ritual we use to be Genocide Coven. After the departure of our singer we decided to continue what we were doing as Ritual Genocide.
3.Ritual Genocide recently released their new cd "Commencement Towards Annihilation" how long did it take the band to write and record the songs on this release? Does the whole band take part in the writing process or does one member usually write everything?
We have been writing these 6 songs for about 2 years. First we tried out a few different vocalists which didn't go so well. Then we decided we would have to do it ourselves if we wanted it to be done right. I write alot of music while at work or even at home mostly in my head. In the end we all work hard at putting the songs together.
4.The lyrics seem to be based on wars and violence in the world When did you all decide to write about these subjects?
We do not write about history but rather the present. Our songs and lyrics come from personal experiences and our beliefs. Our music is a direct extension of who we are.
5.Is their a certain war or time in history that you all like to study and if yes what is it?
No particular one really. Ww1, Ww2, Vietnam. I find all of it is very interesting. But none so much as the war we face each day.
6.Besides the new cd "Commencement Towards Annihilation" does the band have any other releases or merchandise available for the readers? And if yes where can the readers buy it from?
Our first release Invidious Allegiance split with Phosphore Blanc can be found on Inhuman Assault. Which is also about to release the Ep on tape very soon as well. If you are looking for shirts there is a link on our page.
7.Has the band started working on new music/songs for the next release? Any idea how many songs will be featured on the next release?
We just finished recording for our next split with Defecrator which will be on Black Plague Records and The True Plague Records.
8.Does Ritual Genocide play very many "live" shows or do you prefer to work in the studio?
We have played a few shows. At the moment we are mostly writing new material.
9.What have been some of the bands most memorable shows to date? Are their any shows coming up that the readers should watch out for?
Our last show was in Sacramento with Defecrator, Crurifragium and Pseudogod. It was great. No plans right now for future shows.
10.In your opinions what does underground metal mean to you?
Be your Fucking self. In everything you do, Be true to yourself.
11.Other then working with Ritual Genocide are any of the members currently working with other bands or solo projects?
Our drummer and bass player also are in Blasphemous Creation. And we also have another noise, power electronics project called Terroreactor.
