Barrow Lord is a duo that comes out of the U.K.'s black metal scene and this is a review of the debut full length.Unholy Conquest is six tracks of well composed and executed black metal.Ysbryd handles the writing and performing the music and does a good job of combing both fast paced and some slower mid paced passages.The guitars are played with a variety of fast and furious guitars and some slower more melodic style guitar parts.The are some keyboards used in a few of the songs that add another layer to the music.Vass handles the vocals for the project and does a good job with raw,black metal screams and also uses some whispery type vocals in a few of the tracks.This is a really good release that combines both fast black metal passages and some very well performed atmospheric passages for a unique releas.
