Poland's Deathlike Dawn start off this split with two tracks of dark,epic black metal.The music blends a nice mix of tradittonal fast black metal and some very well performed mid paced sections.The vocals are gruff black metal growls and screams for a very unique vocal style.Up next is the U.S band Barbaric Hatred i have heard one of the bands earlier demo's and really liked it.The new songs presented here are in the same vein but do add more melodic and mid paced passages along with the fast paced musicial patterns.The guitars are played whirlind fast paced guitar patterns that are done with intensity.The guitars do slow to a more controlled mid tempoed style.The drums are crazed with some fast and intense drum passages.The vocals are grim black metal screams and some gruff growls are used in a few of the songs.Both bands play a very traditional black metal style that is done with good musicianship.
